In 1975, the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms officially formed the commission under the name Subordinate Service Commission. However, on September 26, 1977, it was renamed the Staff Selection Commission. Starting from June 1, 1999, new rules and functions were implemented for the SSC based on several reports. Currently, all SSC examinations follow the guidelines set in 1999.

Eligibility and Exam Pattern
